On 5 May 1962, the first fare-paying flight of new British airline Euravia took off from Manchester’s Ringway Airport. It was full of working-class families on an all-inclusive tour – one taking them far from traditional seaside holiday destinations like Blackpool, Cleethorpes and Skegness.
